Nose rings, and visible tats are the greatest thing ever IMHO. The only thing better is being fat. Usually they come as a package THAT I KNOW TO AVOID.

I've actually talked people OUT of getting tattoos and they thanked me years later. But i don't hang out much with the age group that gets them now. There's actually a huge growth in the number of people i see with tattoos. A bar i went with to with a younger crowd i'd say at least 3 out of 4 people probably had tattoos.
What's funny is the people who get some kind of oriental symbols. I always imagine the symbols mean faggot or coward and the tattoo artist just lied and said it means "power" or "blessed" lol
