That's not the point. The point is that the idea of "White" was invented to allow non-Europeans (Jews) to be grouped in over time. By reducing European heritage to a skin tone that many of them are close to, they can more easily slip into and out of this made up "White" category with ease. Ask a bunch of Americans what countries they are from. Most have no idea. They just are "White" and they don't care or know about their heritage. This is by design.
