Science used to utilize a scientific method in which you had to have experiments and data to back up your hypothesis. Also, science was less politicized and people seemed to care more about maintaining honor and integrity whereas now anyone will outright lie through their teeth and sell their integrity for an upvote on facebook or to fit in with a manipulated, astro-turfed consensus of thought (groupthink).
