US citizens have never had a politician actually begin to follow through on his promises he claimed to get elected. thats the first shock people have. Trump is actually doing some of the things he said he would, and in 2 weeks time.
Additionally there are black pillers who focus on one specific action that Trump isnt doing, that he may or may not have claimed he would, and use that to dismiss his entire 2nd term just 2 weeks in. "What, Trump isnt expelling or killing all the jews? Hes just like Obama"
Thirdly, all politicians in the west are inherently left wing because they operate within the established framework and power structures which, for decades, have been captured by the left. Changing this is a monumental task since the lefts "long march through the institutions" took decades to solidify their positions. The first step in changing it is reducing their power, cutting off their money, then dissassemble or reorganize them.
