It’s called the Back to Africa movement. There was also [Linconia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linconia) for Latin America. There’s even a snippet of Liberia in the article.

But Lincoln was assassinated and the administrations that followed sought to integrate Africans into American society to keep the South from becoming powerful again. I’d argue that Lincoln’s death was when America began to slowly die.
