What is really needed for those remote areas is lots of motion detecting cameras and a 1 mile wide DMZ along the border. Add some nests for those nasty FPV drones every 5 miles that could be remotely operated via satellite and the border is virtually impenetrable.
Makes it possible to concentrate manpower on the heavily populated border crossings.
There is a simple solution: Kill them on sight. After a while they'll stop coming. And killing them within the country is rewarded, or does not count as a crime. I bet there would be quite some people who'd gladly go hunting subhumans for sports.
