When you deduce your political opponents to a singular defamatory category (except obvious extremes who overwhelmingly fall into this category like trannies), you have lost the argument and are probably projecting. It's one thing to meme about how x ideology is full of basement dwellers, it's another thing to say this shit in legitimate discourse.

Already lost the argument as soon as he wrote the word "basement". If your argument is just ad hominem, you add no weight to the discussion.

You can throw in an add hominen with legitimate refutation to add a burn to it, I suppose. But using ad hominem as your argument is a cop-out that means you have nothing to say, and it only makes the other person more resolute and unwilling to change their beliefs, because they (with good reason) view you as their intellectual inferior.

The left is pretty fucking infamous for this. They call us names so much that we use them as honorific titles and start identifying with the archetypes. I haven't seen "chud" used by leftists lately, because we literally started using it to refer to ourselves more than they do. They didn't win anyone over with that one, gave us a cool meme, and hardened our hearts by doing so.
