I believe "high functioning autism" is the natural trait of inventors and skilled craftsmen. I don't think it's on a spectrum with low functioning autism at all. I don't think a spectrum exists period, except maybe "mid range" autists who are kind of retarded and actual retards.

No matter how many times the "autism spectrum" is explained, it still makes no fucking sense whatsoever. Retard autism and aspergers seem to be exact opposites of each other, actually.

They have completely different needs (aspies barely need any help at all), completely different iq levels, completely different concepts of socialization (meaning that people with aspergers are socially inept but hyper aware. Low functioning autists are not aware at all but typically lack the anxiety of aspies), completely different capabilities, different motor functions (the mentally retarded lack motor function and this is not present in aspies).

How are they the same condition? Why was aspergers thrown into the trashcan and placed alongside literal retardation?
