Until Brother Nathanael converts to Catholicism he will remain unable to free himself from the effects of his Jewish upbringing (the dramatic presentation, the theatrics, etc). He must convert to the one true church in order to be in union with Christ and at peace with himself.

He went to the Orthodox Christians, so that's a thing. The dogma that Catholics follow is pretty easy to pick apart. Praying to saints = talking to the dead. Christ himself said pray directly to God.
