There's a lot of truth to this. At a certain point you just have to give up the whole warrior thing. When I got out of the Infantry, I didn't go out and buy armor and a rifle and start patrolling my neighborhood. Instead I got a deer rifle like a normal person.

This shit was cringeworthy 14+ years ago. Black rifle lifestyle, black rifle tactics, black rifle coffee, black rifle soap, black rifle training. All of these things existed at some point, that's how pathetic it all is.

There are a ton of support troops who left the military to consume the above. The rifle becomes their persona. I'm not a citizen, I'm an operator!!! Dude, when you were enlisted you picked up cigarette butts and swept floors.

The Iraqi and Afghanistan vets are aging into middle age, myself included. How do we stay relevant? More explosions! More books about black rifles!!!!!

FYI, the Armalite rifle system sucks ass because it blows hot carbon back into the chamber, which will then jam the rifle. Anyone who's ever had to fire hundreds of rounds in a day will tell you this. The enthusiasts who think it's a lifestyle swear by how it's the perfected weapon system.

A good mark of success of middle age is if you have a garden and your debts handled. Your kids are off on their own or soon to be.

Gas impingement > direct impingement

Good engineering > bad engineering

Most direct impingement systems are good.

I have kept my calibers to match nato because those will be the most readily available in times of shortage.

Every conflict where AR went up against AK the AK has won.

Kalishnikov rifles are overall more reliable. Especially during the early years of the armalite weapon chassis.

Even Armalite knew it had problems. Why else would Stoner follow it up by designing the AR18 with a piston?

NGL you had me until here. Not that I give a shit about DI vs piston. That fact that you're spouting this gunlore is laughable. You can find MANY torture tests of EITHER system. Both systems have their pros and cons. "jamming up" is not one of them.

Any religious proponent of one system over another can't be taken seriously. It's the application and usage that matters. Guns are tools, use the best one for the job and don't make outlandish claims.

My opinion comes after firing thousands upon thousands of rounds thru M4 rifles. The carbon in the gas builds up in the internals, which then gums up the extractor which causes jamming. Nothing controversial about this.

You think you're the only one with high round count experience? Why then are you the only one claiming DI is an issue? Because it's some bullshit people say to sound smart.

Uh huh. Why do we need to clean the barrels after firing? To clean out the carbon that was deposited when the hot gas was being expelled from the firing chamber. The hot gas tube takes unfiltered gas and pushes it directly into the firing chamber, thus depositing carbon on the bolt assembly. When enough carbon builds up, the weapon begins to jam.

That's about as easy as I can make it. If you don't understand that, then I don't know what I can say.

Yes you've learned about fouling. You still don't understand that it doesn't matter.

That last point seems to be the most relevant synopsis.

I know a lot of these guys have a hard time "reintegrating" into "civilian life."

The real crisis is realizing you were just cannon fodder for ZOG, and you return home to see niggers and spics and pajeets spitting in white people's faces. I served derrrrrr. Served who?

My freedoms aren’t there, and never were. My freedoms were here and they’ve been systematically and massively reduced while you played cannon fodder for jewish expansion and enrichment.

> *angry screeching*

A lot of vets get so pissed when I don’t worship them or even care in the slightest about their military service.

>magdumping into paper from 3 feet away

What’s the fun in that? My grandpa didn’t call it a hit unless I got the bullseye from 200 yards away. Turning a paper plate into the Dreamworks moon didn’t count. It was center or nothing.
