That sounds so retardedly jewish it *should* be fake, but it's real.

Greenland isn't some real-estate he gets to buy when he wants to.

It's an autonomous territory of Danemark, with its own population.

Why should they give a fuck another country wants their land ''for national security''? That's the sort of retarded arguing we are used to from China, Israel, Russia, etc, when they want to invade and annex their neighbours.

I'm sure Russia and China can pull out of their ass ''we need Greenland for our national security'' too.

Is Trump trying to get everyone, including his soon-former supporters, to hate him now?

I would have assumed he would have quietly bought-off Greenlandic politicians ( who can declare independance ) to get it as a puppet state without pissing-off everyone with what he's doing now.

That's likely the buisnessman leaking over the politician role.

Greenland is now demanding independence, because "colonialism".

Without the "colonists", the population of Greenland would be a few thousand stone age savages. Though now they are mostly savages with cell phones.

The irony is that it's also 100% their own choice to live and work in the Danish factory towns. Even those who work in the factories can come and go as they want. They wanna go out fishing in the middle of a work day they just go and nobody stops them, they don't get fired over that.

If they wanted to live by themselves out on the tundra that was always allowed, the Danes won't go out on the tundra, they stay in town at all time. Some Inuits do live out on the tundra in temporary settlements, living of seal and whale meat for months in a row. They are the only ones allowed to hunt whale too, special rights designed specifically so that they can live self sustainable in their own settlement if they wanted to.

Yet they always come back, to work, make money and buy Danish liquor. And they have the guts to complain about colonization. Even tho the Danes were there 200 years before the Inuits arrived.

>Even tho the Danes were there 200 years before the Inuits arrived.

And after the Inuit genocided every single one of the previous inhabitants, with zero mixing.

Same for the Inuits in Canada and Québec.

Never let them try to falsely claim ''indigenous'' status. The Inuits in Québec arrived a few decades before the French. If the Inuits are ''natives'', then the French are too.

But we all know what the ''Progressives'' mean by ''Indigenous''. It means ''whoever was there last, 5 minutes before White people''.

This is why they don't consider European ethnicities as the Indigenous peoples of Europe.

Building some sort of permanent settlement should also be a requirement. Otherwise we'd have gypsies claiming the whole world even though all they ever did was traveling from place to place, stealing from the locals and then somehow leaving behind several truckloads of trash on the ground.

Historians makes a distinct difference between hunter gatherers and farmers back in the early days. The inuits are till hunter gatherers.

I was about to say, pretty sure Greenland and its black gravel craglands were fully uninhabited before Danish explorers and exiles showed up.

The first nation folks were at most using canoes and hollowed-out logs, but they certainly weren't crossing the oceans, not even the water between the coast and the island.

Correct, those waters are full of large blocks of ice and high waves. Small canoes would have no chance and even inuits can't survive falling into ice cold water. The Danish Vikings had reasonably big ships that could travel across the ocean. They were also first in US and Canada. Even if they never built a lasting settlement there.

Independence might be the short term goal. It's a classic divide and conquer tactic. (((Forbes))) proudly kvetched out the whole plan, which goes something like having Greenland declare independence. Then apply to become a state. This would apparently be a (((legal))) takeover, were no payment is required and no military invasion.

I think the Inuits in Greenland are pathetic-enough to shop around for the biggest wellfare daddy rather than improve themselves and build actual self-reliance.

Which is why I brought-up simply buying their politicians. And yeah, it's legal and their ( pathetic ) choice if they tolerate / vote for this.

Their leaders seems to be at least, along with the 50 or so people they could scrape together that might be Trump supporters. Inuits and sami alike are professional parasites. They want their own laws, their own government, special rights, no regulations, welfare and all the services of the society they occupy.

But offer them their own country, which would make the most sense, as they already own enough land to live fully self sustainable. Were they themselves have to build all infrastructure and fund it all using their own hard earned money and all hell breaks lose.

Ironically I don't think either the US or China could give them any better deal than what they already have with Denmark. The US wouldn't fund free healthcare or education for instance and might introduce property taxes while fucking up the landscape in search for minerals. China would just outright oppress them, maybe even relocate them. I guess you can say, they're out on thin ice right now. Fishing for a lot, but might lose it all soon.

Honestly, Denmark should develop Greenland by itself and pay some adventurous families to up and leave for the Island. Certainly beats turning it into an oceanic bollard for the Arctic corridor.

They do already, especially in the last decade. Tourism is growing slow but steadily. There's cruises, dog sled on the tundra, whale meat, landmarks and similar activities. It ain't much, but it's about what can be expected from such small towns so far north.

Hotels are being built too, along with new airports with space for bigger planes. This will not only help boost the tourism but also speed up deliveries of goods from the mainland while making it cheaper.

Good to know, they should ramp um operations and also think about rediscovering their warrior culture. The American wants to fuck around? Let the American find out.
