This is based and how I've felt for a while. I'd rather live today at the end of the road than live during the communist takeover of America. At least being born in it I'm used to it. Forrest Gump actually made me realize this as the movie is actually a mockery of the downfall of the US--it perfectly highlights why the 50s-80s were the most destructive time in human history.
If I could actually pick a time to live it would probably be like the late 1800s-very early 1900s.
