Edit: I'm going to also say laziness was the culprit as well. I wasn't hands on enough with the people that scammed me, choosing to trust them. I could say it was because "well they're the experts" but no, laziness on my part and I'm sure his part has a lot to do with ability to be scammed. You can say you should be able to trust a contractor to not rip you off, and while I agree, I can't help but wonder if contractors are given a certain amount of space to rip you off and since they handle those interactions every day, they easily know when and how to facilitate the job to a place where they are able to rip you off. It's not just a single way I've been ripped off either, these people have ran the gambit. It's like they sit and dream up novel ways to be thieves.
