This completely came out of the blue. I always knew that home office would end as soon as it started but this seems like a last minute decision from the senior leadership team. They are giving us two weeks to return to the office, there is no wiggle room or the ability for middle management to make exceptions for their workers (I actually really like my coworkers and lower management) and supposedly your on site attendance will be monitored by IT and there will be quarterly reviews by HR to discipline people who don't comply.

I work for a fortune 500 so I know that there are a lot of things senior management does for social engineering reasons rather than financial reasons. The weird part to me is how quickly it came. There has been literally no indication anything was changing from anyone, whether it be directors or the CEO. We even have these "town hall" meetings that are (ostensibly) to give everyone updates on what's going on with the company. We had one of these town hall's exactly two weeks before the back to work announcement came and the only explanation I have is they are sick of paying severance packages so they're trying to get people to leave or collect enough HR violations to fire them.

What's funny is the "official" story for why they want workers back is because of how much they value "face-to-face interaction" that fosters "team collaberation" but most of my team is out of state or out of the country and I haven't been able to do any face-to-face collaberation with them in 2 years because of budget mandated travel restrictions.

The real reason they are doing this is because someone who pulls the strings realizes there are too many workers who benefit from working from home and they want to screw it up for us because f-you that's why.

The abruptness is probably another part of the psyop. Jews are mad that goy were able to escape their cubicle prisons and realize society was collapsing, so they want everyone back in the wage cage

They have said as much. It's called "reduction through attrition".

Whenever someone moves on, whether that's retirement or quitting they backfill the position in India.

Yup. I know a couple of people who legitimately saw a 20-30k income boost just from the things you listed. On top of that they are able to get shit done around the house like get clothes and dishes washing, and one of them is actually able to homeschool her kid throughout the day while waiting for new projects to come through. I posted about it recently. The main thing though, is that you’re able to actually be home, and enjoy the most expensive asset you have. I know so many poor bastards who buy a home, but have to work so fucking much, they literally only get to sleep in it. It’s fucking awful and dystopian.

I like this because remote work was going to get lots of city boy faggots moving to rural areas. If corporations require these faggots to report to city headquarters for work, then i don't have to worry about as many faggots moving out to the country because they do remote work. Corporations reining the faggots back into pasture is good for rural country folk who don't want these remote work ZOGbots infesting our rural small towns.

Conversely, based individuals will be forced to live exclusively in the city if they want to make a decent living and less White supremacists will be able to infiltrate Fortune 500 companies?

This is accurate. Before Pajeets, there was a flood of DEI hires upgrading from the ghetto to our neighborhood thanks to WFH.

I love WFH, but it was a form of conservative block-busting.

I'm worried about this starlink shit. It used to be that democrats would not move to rural area because no cell phone signal or internet. If the fuckers can get internet signal in middle of nowhere then the faggot democrats will infest our rural towns. I wish i could shoot down these starlink satellites.

The company I worked for did this in 2022. I had worked there for 8 years and had a very high reputation. I could absolutely not go back to commuting 2 hours every day, paying $240/month to park my car, and getting suckered into happy hours and work events just to rub shoulders with upper management in hopes of getting better pay.

I tried to throw my weight around and negotiate coming in only 2 days a week. Nope. Absolute zero wiggle room. Any work from home day would have to be requested and only approved on a case by case basis. I left that job without even finding a new job before I quit. It took me 4 months to find a new job that was suitable, but now I walk 5 minutes to work twice a week and work from home the other 3 days. My pay is better, and the job is overall easier.

Don't let the company jerk you around. If they do, just leave.

I have over two years income saved up. I can quit or take jobs as I please.

Living paycheck to paycheck is high stress.

Others need to practice the DO NOT CONSUME portion of our movement. It is so tempting to buy a new gun or a new knife sometimes. I bought something last week but I had to convince myself it was going to more than pay for itself in providing energy savings. I consume things that can save me or make me money. Tools or improvements to my compound.

I agree, especially in spirit, but this isn’t realistic for 99% of the population. Most can’t even afford three months of their ESSENTIAL bills if shit went belly up. I’m not saying it’s right, I’m just saying it is. 😞

Good for you fren, but you have to realize, you’re an extreme exception to the rule, and very lucky in this regard IMHO. I’m guessing you’re very good at what you do to, and have the credentials to back it up. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case for many young men today, at least yet. Let’s be honest though, it doesn’t even matter as much anymore if you’re white.

for the vast majority of people, absolutely. most just do not have the discipline or incentive to get any real work done without social pressure of someone being there with them physically. and the more you scale a company the more people who are going to get through who just don't actually put in the time.

and anyone who thinks a video call is anywhere near as effective as physically being in the same room for a meeting is delusional.

i've done 100% WFH for over a decade now and seen it every time.

I work from home exclusively and I agree 100%. But the difference, assuming you have quality employees, is less than you may originally think.

With that said, the quality of a business goes further than employee productivity. If you are in a professional role, rather than someone doing grunt work, you are paid for what you know and the ideas you have, and less so for the work you produce.

If you set expectations for your employees with reasonable deadlines, and that's what you pay them for, then dragging them to the office isn't necessary.

facts. the truth is most people will cheat their way out of work as much as they can.

there are very few exceptions to this (honest people and jobs that are easy to set a target for) but wfh is bad for productivity unless there is a system to track you the whole time.

A lot of jobs can be done by a clever spreadsheet, but if bosses knew this many people would be out of a job. WFH allows clever people to escape wage slavery.

In general, I think it’s an easy way for them to make people quit rather than laying them off so they don’t have to pay unemployment. Giving only 2 weeks I’m not sure how that would hold up since it’s impossible to move that quickly.

I mean Elon and Vivek told you what return to work is. Your company is planning layoffs and this is both a loyalty test and a means to induce attrition without paying unemployment/severance.

Also, one of the big reasons for dei is the endless micro conflicts it causes. The sheboon who can barely do entry level work can’t complain about your ass when everything is in chat or witnessed in meetings. No chance for your water cooler talk to backfire and you don’t get that promotion/raise.

That and it’s crazy easy for whites to withhold training for dei. No more popping into a cubicle to ask a quick question. Harder to get roped into doing their work for them. Which is another way the company suppresses your wages and get more productivity out of you.

It’s playing out a lot like how body cameras did.

Elon wants all government workers to return to work in-person. He says the buildings are empty and there is a high cost for maintenance.
I read somewhere that DC gov employees also get 30% extra pay to cover cost of living expenses and transportation expenses. I don't think these were ever removed when everything shifted to work at home.

When I started at my current employment I drove to the office 5 days a week so I'm used to it and am not complaining per se, I actually like a lot of my coworkers so the "time wasted with nonsense in person chit chat" is just socializing. However, you are right about the time factor. It takes out an extra 2 hours a day for myself.

However I have coworkers that have built their (families) lives around home office and even joined our group because we work from home and now the senior management says "in 2 weeks you must be back or HR will punish you".

I'm flexible, and one of my empty nester colleagues is flexible, but I know a few people where this will royally screw them up.

If the economy was good, executives wouldn’t order this. If they did, workers could use their leverage and just not go in.

But this is not a good economy. Executives know this and workers are just now figuring this out.

they could be getting ready for layoffs. if they start talking about maximizing cashflow, cutting costs, cutting back benefits like 401k match, then they might be forecasting their company is going to be in real trouble this year. given the state of the overall economy, this could be likely depending on your sector. if it's tech, then yeah, you're going to be seeing many tech companies laying off this year.

think about changing jobs. think maybe about getting out of purely tech companies if you can. companies that build real things or extract commodities need tech too, so definitely do not rule them out in your job hunt.

anyway, you should be running your career like a mercenary. you should always be looking for that next job hop. interview every now and then just for the practice and to feel our your market sector competitors for better, pay, better position.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the real reason for this - employers implicitly like exclusivity, and home office allows doubling and tripling up on jobs. Nobody wants to pay 'full salary' for 1/2 or 1/3 of your employees attention.

They call it being overemployed, and it is really easy to hit extremely high overall salaries this way. A couple of my own buddies are doing this right now.
