As u/TakenusernameA said, if Luther would have seen what his rebellion would have led to, he would have recanted. He did live some years after the Peasant Rebellion he instigated, which was the largest bloodshed in Europe prior to WWI. Luther's theological reforms were hijacked by German nobles to make it about dodging taxes to Rome. After that, he pretty much became a recluse, depending on income from boarding students at his home, which was formally a monastery that the German nobles stole from the Church to give to Luther as a reward for being such a good pawn. The Anglicans would later do the same with Catholic churches and abbeys in England. Luther even said that he wouldn't want to see "Lutherans," meaning that he didn't want his own sect or cult; and yet there's still clowns who call themselves Lutherans today.
Well you know it won't be the first time jews got burned by their overconfidence, not by a long shot. Would be a shame, since she is such a funny comedian, right?
