Pemmican is awesome, there are some commercial versions but they are rather pricey:

I have a couple of PDFs on it, one for making your own dehydrator and the other for the pemmican. I haven't gotten around to making it myself yet but I need to.

I was going to throw them on catbox and link them but it doesn't seem to be working. Appears to upload successfully but gives 404 error when using the link.

Litterbox seems to work so these are up for 3 days:

looks awesome but $95.00 a box? jesus that shit is expensive

i buy organic grass-fed whey protein bars (Atlas Bar) for about 33$ a box and they definitely give me a good bang for my buck considering they're hand-crafted in some dude's garage

Probably because dehydrating meat shrinks it way down, same reason why jerky is expensive.

Pemmican is supposed to be something you can like nibble on and it sustains you for hours. So I’m guessing that’s part of why the high cost

terms of protein wise, is it more protein dense than protein bars?

I’m not sure, I’m not an expert I just got gifted some once and looked a bit into the historical purpose of it and how it was made but I didn’t look into any sort of nutritional data on it

This looks exceptional.

I've never made it but I do have several large jars of hard tack in my prepper pantry, just in case... because it's great for soaking in coffee or soup or thickening stew.

Hardtack / ships biscuit / forever biscuit has a surprising amount of calories and protein and it's a cool way to forever preserve flour.

Hardtack isn't as good as pemmican, but it is incredibly easy to make (flour, water, salt) and can be made with a normal oven.

Hardtack is what lembas bread from Lord of the Rings is based on.

Cosori dehydrator btw. I got the middle and large size, very nice products. I just did a bag of cranberries but apparently i didnt slice them with a knife deep enough and they scabbed over and didnt dry. Oh well, live and learn. I got the middle size and its a good size for alot of things but i quickly learned i wanted the biggest to do garden harvests of leafy greens, leeks and celery this year.
