Fun anecdotal history: In 90s in estonia(eastern europe) criminality was blooming, because state wasn't strong enough to enforce laws and lock up bad guys and so on. Well in 00s things calmed down and there were multiple factors including stronger state, mafiosos getting into legitimate business after getting capital from criminal business and... more entertainment options. I saw quite some tough (russian) mafia guys losing interest in being in mafia after getting stable job and getting addicted to some form of entertainment. Heck, one guy still plays vidya till this day.
Conclusion is that the guy in the video didn't mention entertainment factor, although the video wouldn't be that catchy if that was included.
