Even if he's naturally incompetent at handy stuff, the repairs are really the only part any person without a handicap might struggle with. He could pay an American to fix the things he can't, but lording it over someone who's a step above a slave is too good for him to give up.
That is what happens with these people when they fall on hard times. It's like Grey Gardens. They become obsessed with pieces of furniture, but the downstairs toilet has been broken for years and all the floor tiles are delaminated. It's pathetic. You want to put them out of their misery.

> Everyone nostalgic for the 1950's might not realize what that actually entails.
Listing a bunch of jobs that a highschool dropout could do to a group of people that built this country from scratch isn't exactly the flex he thinks it is, especially when you consider that a lot of people were educated in one-room schoolhouses and started working after 8th grade.

the bigotry of low expectations. "who will clean your toilets?"
everyone will take care of themselves, and these jobs going to unskilled illegals will be the purview of young teenagers again. I cant imagine what the kids now do for low skill/part time work with these illegals taking those jobs.

This is it, ding ding ding. Exactly what my parents did to me when I turned 18. Only now are they very slowly starting to realize how bad the job market is.
My parents thought the economy was great and inflation wasn't an issue until they decided to sell their home which had been generating them income and realized what living off retirement savings will look like.
Depending on the class level and political leaning of the parents, little Johnny is now identifying as "Mary", still wearing a mask, and letting his helicopter mom manage his after-school activities.
Seriously. I had a plumber look at something recently. $200 just for him to put some thread tape on something. I wanted someone with more expertise than me to look at the issue I had, but it was $200. Which was cheap.
I subbed a plumber to replace 2 valves for a property manager a couple of years ago. $800. The valves cost like $4.50 at the hardware store.
I had a guy quote me recently on gutter guards for my rain gutters. Over 6 grand. It doesn't make any sense to hire out for anything. Most of us are essentially broke and not because we're lazy. The currency is just worthless.

And I work full time in construction (framing for 47 years, but the past few years have been management). Oh, and my wife is disabled now, so I do laundry, dishes and cooking
No. That factory manager in Ohio who hired all the Haitians was a MAGA Republican.
I don't know. Maybe he mows his own lawn. A slight variation in racial treason. The "who's gunna cook your meals and clean your toilets?" thing is pretty jewish/leftist.
These things always yeild insights into what class conditions drive progressivism. From where I came, there were always rich kids pretending to be middleclass. This thing of having servants is something they thought everyone had.
