Ive cut my consumption to just trading cards, since they actually require a bit of thinking to play, and in the event of a total societal collapse, I will have the most *expensive* kindling in my neighborhood.

No, politics as a game function weren't implemented until the prequel sets. And Decipher lost the license to produce Star Wars content right after Episode 1, so their game never saw Palpatine become chancellor.
