Your IQ is not fixed. It flucuates based on how you use your brain. Intelligence is like muscles: the more and harder you use it, the stronger it gets. Social interactions play a huge role in maintaining intelligence. Is it really a surprise that, when people get a disease that society says requires them to isolate away from people for a week or more, people get dumber?
