Beer is not strong intoxicant, most germans drink beer as an alternative to water

and besides you can go to a pub and order something to eat and non-alcoholics as well, Bavarian cuisine is also phenomenal

That would explain why early on Uncle Adolf was sympathetic to jews believing that they were simply victims of scapegoating and unfairly treated for millenia - then something happened.
