Fake quote, but here’s a good enough real substitute from his first state of the union:

>A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend **to render them independent of others for essential, particularly military, supplies.**

America's founders could have never fathomed that future generations would happily give up control to a hostile foreign nation.

Everytike I think about what they were up against and what they went to war over I feel shame. They couldn't in their wildest fucking dreams have imagined future generations giving up such freedom and power while paying insanely high taxes to anyone without a fight. They would have been stacking bodies by 1913 at the latest.

How do you start now?

They didn't fight the British empire's seat, they were able to leave to an entirely new continent.

We now have an incumbent government - but unlike the founders, we have nowhere to go.
