There is no "pilpul". "Mosaic" and "jewish" are 2 different things. Please show me in the Bible where Moses is called a jew. Also show me where any sort of god makes any agreement with jews. You can search forever; you will never find either of these things. Saying jews are legitimate successors of Hebrews is like saying it's OK to call the Spanish explorers of the western hemisphere in the 1500s "yankees", because both are ultimately derived from Europoid populations.
Regarding your comment on Paul, you've misunderstood something big. Christians are not obligated to follow the covenant of Moses because it has been completed and passed away. This is a universal truth and would also apply to jews who genuinely convert to the true faith. It's also why there can be no "third jewish temple", regardless of what name jews give to whatever building. The passing of the old covenant means it can no longer be followed, despite the intentions of the practitioner.
>Christians are not obligated to follow the covenant of Moses
I think we both agree with that. Regardless of how or why, Christians are not obligated to follow the law. The Hebrew scriptures were written for jews and used only by jews, and are absolutely irrelevant to Christians, especially the jewish law.
