And corn syrup, coupled with an education system that drugs anyone who wants to be physically active, rampant screen addiction, and a general lack of peers to actually hang out with (I was the only boy on my street, growing up)

The problem is the quality of food starts you on a fucked up path as a very young child. It actually destroys your brain, and body composition while also getting you addicted like a drug. I’m not making excuses, but it doesn’t happen overnight in a vacuum. Even the school lunches in the 80s when I was young was trash. With that said, I agree that if most people didn’t let their life revolve around eating, even with the trash food, if they consumed less, they wouldn’t be nearly as obese. We’d still have a shit of OW, and obese individuals, but wouldn’t have nearly as many morbidly obese people who are 100lbs plus OW. I fucking hate fat people, but I also realize the majority of them have been fed, and addicted to poison before they even knew what was going on. This is the case for almost all the ones I’ve known in my life. I’ve helped a couple of them make big changes, but it’s not easy. It’s usually a whole life approach that’s the problem too, not just the eating. It’s no clear direction and routine. Most people are a fucking mess in general.
Food isn't just fuel. If you eat all the chemicals you get brain diseases and from there you won't work properly.
I've said it before that lawns are a joke, use that little land to plant tomatoes or to grow some chickens.
Every house should have a small area of land for these 2.
Corn syrup is a much bigger culprit here. It made it cheaper to make lots of sweetened foods, and the government subsidized it, and corn farmers played along.
And this is all besides the fact that consuming "unhealthy" foods doesn't necessarily make you fat. Seed oils and chemicals can cause a host of different problems, but weight gain is caused by eating too many calories and/or not burning enough calories day-to-day. We need to stop stuffing our faces and start walking around more, first and foremost.
