With people moving to more rural areas, it seems like well digging and septic tank installs could be something to look into (especially if coupled with services in general plumbing).
And with people touting global warming, maybe HVAC? We have a wonderful HVAC/electrician that is incredibly clever. He works for a company and gets paid hourly. My husband calls him out and he diagnoses the problem and teaches my husband exactly how to fix it himself. We say thank you, I box him up some dinner, husband hands him some cash, and off he goes.
