will order as soon as i can. does anyone know if it's possible to balance a wooden european sword similarly to the real thing? like a japanese bokken, but for an arming sword or something.

Yeah, wooden training swords were a thing in Europe. The Germans called them "wasters". Im sure the other traditions had different terms for them, but that's the name that stuck with modern practitioners.

Nice for decorations, but expensive.

I build weapons for my kids and their friends out of scrap wood and tree rounds for basically free. And when they play with them and something breaks, it is easy to repair.

They have some nice bookmarks, I'm grabbing the "I do not love the bright sword" LotR quote one. The swords are a bit spendy for me right now.
