Different races smell inherently different for a variety of reasons. Most neutral is just differing body chemistry leading to our sweat and scalps smelling different. Different cultures having different diets can add to and compound to this. A man that eats nothing but potatoes will smell different from someone who eats nothing but carrots. This can lead to other races inherently smelling 'off', though not necessarily badly.

Add to this the hygienic habits of some peoples and cultures, or rather, their lack, and these odours become much more noticeable and pungent. If Jamal or Ahmed already smell different, but then never shower, they will smell offensively different. As this doesn't smell like 'people smell' to you, you'll try to draw the nearest comparison, often less than charitably. No doubt they think the same thing of unwashed white people, albeit without the internal monologue to put it into words.

Butyric Acid (the MOST smelly chemical a human can produce and negros make 300% more)

Negros have over 3 million (yes three million) DNA base pair differences (mutations) than all other races, and one set of differences changes the properties of excreted urine, which in mammals is also excreted in sweat. Blacks also emit more bilirubin in sweat, and Blacks emit more testosterone in sweat (both genders). Phosphorous differences would cause the most stench differences though, but many smelly volatile compounds were carefully measured in a brave 2017 paper proving that Negros smell four times more than other races...
