Just remember God wanted you to live your life not under the pain of thinking you're never good enough for him. He loves you the way you are. That was the entire purpose of Jesus dying for our sins because prior to Jesus, the Christians were oppressed by the Pharisees who were so repressed by the threat of sin that they were too frightened to do anything.

As long as you're a good person and you do good in this world then you don't have to worry about your imperfections to such a degree that such worry consumes you. Focus on living your life in the way in which you want to and getting out in the community so that you can help others in the community with your presence. Nothing is more a waste then a group of good people who only congregate together with themselves and never grace the rest of their community with their presence. How can things improve when all the good people are scared of partaking in the community for fear of encouraging sin? Go out, partake in the community no matter how degenerate it seems and be good and kind to others so that they may be guided toward the path of good by experiencing the good of others in their community.

That's my take anyway. Don't let the idea that you need to constantly improve yourself hold you back from contributing to your community the good that's already within you. And you do have good in you even if you aren't perfect. If you see yourself as constantly needing to develop because you aren't good enough then you'll carry that burden until you die. You will never be perfect because you weren't designed to be so don't let your intersections hold you back from doing good. That is what Jesus taught us.
