Perhaps he talked about jews? Which would make them officially "honorary" niggers.
Jews probably are descendants of the Canaanites God ordered the Israelites to exterminate for being devil worshipping degenerates. It was widely assumed that modern negroes were the remnants of the Canaanites the Israelites failed to remove, a the features of jews are similar to those of negroes if you ignore skin color.
Even if the out of Africa theory is vindicated and it turns out to be completely accurate in every single way
