>I'm just telling you the impression they give off. If this is the point then they've done a terrible job of broadcasting that.

Perhaps you haven't done the best job of searching for it? I don't even follow them that closely but I can still read between the lines.

>but from what I've seen, doing "weekend warrior" drills on nice sunny days is not a meaningful act of preparation.

Light-years ahead of sitting around playing video games all day, no?

>Is this how you imagine a "revolution" happening?

This is literally how every revolution happens. A very small irate *minority* starts kicking up a stink, and then everything snowballs from there. They'll have to be the ones to organize everything; because the broad masses of people aren't going to do it on their own.

>First, if you don't already have a rifle, I'm not giving you one

You go to war with the army you *have*, not the army you want. You'd turn away people wanting to fight for your cause because they're too young or too poor to have already purchased one, a felon arrested for political reasons and unable to previously have legally owned one, or any other legitimate reason? In case you haven't noticed, we aint gonna have the numbers to be picky and choosy.

>Second, if they're in an urban city, I'm definitely not giving them anything other than the advice to leave that death trap as soon as is possible.

So you'd turn away everybody who came from an urban area as well? You've just ruled out 80% of the US population; you're gonna have an awfully sample size to draw from, and an even smaller army then.

>I would rather this not be necessary.

Yeah me too. But do you see any other ways out of our current situation? If you do, then I'm all ears because I'd love to find a different one as well.

>It's a teenage boy fantasy that if you just hang out, wait for things to get bad enough, and then boil over, than you can swoop in and "save the day."

Still beats "do nothing, do nothing, do nothing, and then do nothing some more". Again, if you've got any better ideas then I'm all ears.
