If you hunt your land or neighbors or just pack because fuck the government telling you what to do, and process it yourself, hunting is cheap af.

But its time consuming and messy and hard.

Anyone asking this has never paid for a guided elk hunt.

Obviously hunting is cheaper…you could even include the cost of your first gun, and then go out and bag a few deer and it’s going to be way cheaper than buying meat from the grocery store for a year, or from a local farm, plus your kill won’t have any antibiotics or mRNA vaxxes tainting the meat. If you don’t mind the taste of wild game, there’s nothing more healthy for you than that.

And the gamey flavour is just in the fat. You trim all of it off and replace with some suet or tallow when cooking, and it's perfect.

Good place to plug local beef. Hunting is a whole thing. How much time do you have to dedicate to hunting?

Hunting is basicly free so it depends how much your time is worth

Not even close.

Weapons, ammo, tags, travel, processing, storage, etc. Unless you're shooting something ordinary on your own land and processing it yourself, hunting gets expensive real quick.

I guess you're right if you're going on some big game excursion. I'm just thinking about hunting local deer for sustenance. 308 rounds are like a dollar each.

They way most people hunt is for sport, it gets expensive because they let it.

So doesn’t buying meat from the grocery store. Ultimately, you are saving a fuckload of money hunting and processing the meat for yourself, then storing it in a big ol’ freezer wherever you can fit something like that. Plus, there’s nothing quite as healthy as wild game.
