Nah, c'mon. Writing is the one thing that chicks are good at. Austen and the Brontes are top-notch. Chicks only fell off when they started getting 'feminist'.

If you think about it, chicks are actually quite good at manipulating language and living in fantasy lands -- both of which are great for writing fiction. They're just not good at using language for rational/goal-oriented purposes. They're not stupid -- they're just.... destructive.
