It was still 12 more years before Edward I issued an edict to expel all jews from England. It was the culmination of decades, probably more than a century, of antisocial behavior by the jews, including the sacrificial death of Little Saint Hugh in 1255. It was so well known that Chaucer included it in his Canterbury Tales in The Prioress's Tale.
