Since the meaning of life is to improve and pursue perfection, how do we achieve that? We must pursue, explore, learn, teach, understand, adhere to, pass on, build upon, and defend truth, in every way.
What happens when life acts discordantly with truth? Depending on the circumstances and severity of the truth ignored, it can result in a number of negative outcomes, immediately or over time. It results in failure, defeat, destitution, starvation, illness, danger, hostility, weakness, sin, ugliness, inefficiency, loneliness, infertility, apathy toward loved ones, atomization and fracturing of the tribe, infiltration of subversives, weakness to destructive and conquering forces, subjugation, tyranny, and death, for the individual, spouse, children, tribe, nation, or entire species.
What happens when life acts in accord with truth? It results in success, victory, abundance, health, safety, strength, virtue, beauty, efficiency, community, fecundity, care for loved ones, vigor and harmony of the tribe, resistance to subversion, bulwark to destructive and conquering forces, freedom, benevolent leadership, and life, for the individual, spouse, children, tribe, nation, and entire species, immediately or over time, depending on the circumstances.
These disparate outcomes prove that truth is inlaid into the universe, everywhere and for all time. Everything is dictated, judged, and ruled by truth. Every number, every true idea, every mathematical formula, scientific equation and constant, from geometry to calculus, from geology to quantum physics, every point and line of logic, every virtue, is of truth. Only in truth are we rewarded, through our understanding of it, in idea, word, and action. The only exception to this inviolate rule is when life succumbs to the chance blind hostility of the universe, like natural disasters. However, the more life adheres to truth the more it can observe and prepare for such hostility and hardship, the more it spreads out and multiplies, giving less chance at being wiped out, and the more that will survive the danger. The less life adheres to truth the less it’s able to do this. In this way, truth is inseparable from life, and how we live.
Life pursues truth in all regards. More intelligent life can explore and learn truth explicitly and knowingly, through intelligence, curiosity, questioning, debate, testing, and observation. Less intelligent life learns truth through iterative trial and error, over many generations and adaptations, where false paths die out and true paths procreate and build upon themselves. However, more intelligent life still learns truth the same way as less intelligent life, in addition to the more advanced forms, giving us more tools and chance to survive and thrive.
Competition also breeds ingenuity and a higher need for truth. Competition with ourselves, our neighbors, competing tribes, competing species, hostile predators, conquering armies, and the indifferent dangers of the universe itself. Competition weeds out weakness and promotes strength, even in avenues that don’t present mortal danger, like games within a family or tribe. This competition between life and danger forces life to adapt, to discard what doesn’t help or weighs one down, and iteratively improve. Predators and prey are in a constant competition, between hunting and protection from being hunted. Different pathways and philosophies are explored and utilized by different species, to see what works best. Even predators compete with other predators, and prey against other prey, to secure more food, land, resources, and safety than the other, to ensure the survival and continuation of themselves over everyone else. Stagnation leads to death. Strategies and philosophies aren’t universally applicable, either. What works for one species may not work for another, because their needs are different, their location is different, their experiences are different, and their pressures are different. For example, one prey species may pursue armor to protect from the specific predators they face, whereas a different prey species relies upon numbers to create herd security or overcome predation. Circumstances vary wildly, and while truth is everywhere, immutable, and universally applicable, not all truth is of the same hierarchical importance in all situations.
