Someone is trying to pervert scripture here and teach a foreign concept as if it is Biblical.
Specifically, the concept of "love your enemy".
The person shared this quote without thinking very hard about what Jesus actually meant or what meaning those words convey (whether Jesus actually said them or not -- that's another topic altogether.)
What does "love" actually mean? Who is "enemy"? Does it mean we bow down and worship them? Does it mean we let them murder our friends and family? Does it mean we give them money or food? What was Jesus even talking about? Should we open the borders and gates to the city and allow them to invade?
It is up to you to take it apart and put it together again in context with a proper understanding of what was said and meant.
Anyone who says "Oh this is obvious" is retarded because they have no idea that the world 2,000 years ago was very different and words had completely different meaning back then.
As for me, my conclusion is simply this: Treat everyone equally, regardless of their relationship with you. Don't have one set of rules for friends and another for enemies. If someone you consider your enemy is actually helping you, accept that help and reciprocate. If someone you consider your friend is actually hurting you, maybe you shouldn't let them continue.
In short, Jesus was telling his disciples to stop acting like jews, giving preferential treatment to jews over Romans, Greeks, and foreigners.
He was not telling them to worship the Romans or let the Greeks infiltrate and ruin their religion, or let foreigners claim Jerusalem.
