In these twilight days,
Silent and solemn,
Comes softly carried
Peace over me.
 
A quiet contentment
And quiet contentment ...
Softly soft sounds lull
Lull the weary soul
 
Into dreamless deep slumber -
How lies so far away
Hate, suffering and all sorrow
And all sadness!
