I never understood why sand didn’t turn to glass in the 90,000 Fahrenheit from the nuclear energy.

Nuke energy is legit.
 
Nuke weapons don’t make sense. Why is there no glassing of the earth? 90,000 degrees is more than enough to leave a glass crater for miles. Even lightning glasses the beach when it strikes.
