8 rounds of 9mm in a single stack mag as a carry gun for over a grand? Maybe not for me but would love to shoot one.

The original was one of the finest handguns ever made, but full sized single stack service pistols aren't very relevant for carry anymore. Might be a fun range toy if you have money to burn and don't want to drop ~$5k on an original. Maybe good for competitive shooting.
