Animals have rights, but you once again are far too vague in your questioning. Which rights are you talking about?

Animals should be respected, no matter what we breed them for; food, work, companionship, etc…
I can respect a wild deer when I hunt them for food, just as I respect my chickens for their eggs, or my rabbits for their meat.

If we are willing to allow then to be killed to be eaten as food, I'm not sure what other "rights" we would want to give them. (although not all pets are eaten)
maybe animal torture can be penalized as animal cruelty, but that seems to be a system open to legal abuse of supposed human offenders.
perhaps if you have a specific "right" in mind we could debate it.
