I don’t think Menards, Home Depot, Lowe’s or Walmart sells iron or aluminum oxide.

iron oxide is simply rusty iron. scrape the red stuff off the piece of iron.

Aluminum oxide should be weathered aluminum. Should be kind of a white looking powder.

I would try to get my hands on steel wool or aluminum wool and expose it to water and the outdoors.

Aluminum wool can be bought on amazon.
