Sounds pretty fucking retarded.
I don’t know “why” they’re created, but all I know is maintaining a common time frame for different positions of the sun seems pretty rational.

I don’t want 8AM to be sunrise in CST and then 8PM in KST.

They're necessary because the earth's curvature would cause the exact problem you want to avoid if we all used the same time zone.

Time used to be set locally by measuring solar noon, resulting in infinite time zones. But it was easier to write train schedules if there were only a few time zones.
