These demons are smart, that much is true. Anyone remember the shadowy organization in the first "Jack Reacher" movie? "We take what we can because we can." They're just evil dudes hijacking businesses, creating a bigger and bigger network of influence and money. To what end? Nobody really knows. It's just this tentacle monster that keeps growing and growing.
