I think he basically called them LARPers, which they are. Norse Paganism has been dead for nearly two millennia, and for a very good reason: it failed to provide actual spiritual fulfillment, because it was simply the result of myths turning into ancestor worship.

2 millennia? What? I agree with you on what it is, but it sure as fuck hasn't been dead for 2000 years. It's been dead for a few hundred. Barely even that if you want to count isolated pockets that held out until the 18th century

I wonder how many holdouts refused to give it up at all, and continued the chain unbroken, I'd wager there's a few, IK there was some in Russia, and as a result there's a fairly large Pagan resurgence there, and the good thing about Rodnovery is it’s Volkish (true) Paganism, vs faggoty pretenders

Actually, not russia too much. Vladimir the Great was already a hero to the pagan russians, he was the first christian king, so when he converted, they followed their role model in spades. Sweden and the baltic states held out the longest. Lithuania was the last country in Europe to *officially* convert. The gospel took a very long time to spread to rural areas though. In deep rural Sweden, paganism persisted until the 1800s.
