A staff officer should not make millionaire mansion money. And indeed, the salary for staff officers is "only" six digit money in the United states. Not enough for a mansion in California.

Somehow Ukrainian generals have enough money for overseas multi million dollar mansions in one of the most expensive areas on the planet. You damn near need a generals salary to buy a regular fucking house in LA with the median price being about 1 mil easy.
